SUSTAIN-
ABILITY
“The concept of using practices to maintain a garden so that
natural resources are not exhausted and without causing ecological damage.”
- definition by RHS -
A common assumption is that working in the gardening industry means to be “green” and to look after the environment. Sadly, this is not necessarily true.
DaveSide wants to be different and strives to be an environmentally friendly business. We have learnt to garden with and for nature rather than against it.
Being attentive to the planet is a choice that we make on a daily basis and that we want to be transparent about with our customers and ourselves, too.
Leave your positive mark on the planet with DaveSide!
Being a sustainable small business is a challenging journey that we want to share with our customers.
We can all do our part to make the difference, and together we can make it bigger!
Here are some of DaveSide’s key focus points.
Permaculture.
We try to mimic the patterns present in nature and apply them to private gardens and green areas.
Biodiversity.
By reversing habitat destruction in green spaces, we implement improved conditions for pollinators and wildlife, and enhance different types of plants.
Battery-powered tools.
Our gardening tools do not use fossil fuels, do not produce any gaseous pollutants nor carbon emissions when used. They emit lower noise pollution.
Home composting.
In the living world, one species’ waste is another’s food. Kitchen&garden waste produce compost that can be used as a great natural soil improver.
Sustainable logistics.
Wherever it is possible to do so, we cycle or use public transport for quoting visits to help reduce the CO2 emissions and have a positive impact on our planet.
Regenerative design ideas.
We promote the harmonious fusion of human and natural space, an ethical balance between private and environmental needs.
DaveSide is loyal to their green values and wants to be more environmentally responsible.
There is so much we can still do towards a more sustainable world!
Step by step, and with your help, we are aiming to reach more engaging targets.
Plant trees.
With Woodland Trust support, we aim at creating a greener UK by restoring native woods and planting new trees to tackle the climate crisis.
